Would you like to improve your performance, have access to higher levels of energy throughout the day, and have more energy available to you at the end of the day to do the things you want to do? If yes, this article is for you because I will be explaining a very important secret for unleashing your inner vitality.

Here is an odd question for you… when you sleep at night do you leave your phone charged or do you unplug it as you sleep? For me, almost every night I charge my phone to 100% and unplug it before going to sleep. Normally when I wake up my phone battery is at around 97–99% charged and it lasts me most of the day.
One morning I did the exact same process… I charged my phone to 100%, unplugged my phone, and went to sleep for the same amount of time as usual but when I woke up my phone was down to… 83%. To say the least I was curious. What could account for such a drastic difference?
It wasn’t long after that I discovered the culprit. Upon further exploration I discovered that I had left a bunch of apps open in the background of the phone all night, slowly but surely draining the battery as I slept.
This made me wonder. If leaving these apps open all night drained my battery this much, I wonder how much they are draining my battery when I leave them open all day. How much more battery life would I get if I just closed all of the apps that are not in use, and open just one app at a time when I need it.
Now here’s a question for you. Throughout the day, how many ‘apps’ do you have open in your mind as you are working on the things you need to work on? And if your answer is more than one, how do you think this is affecting your battery life?
What are some apps you could be running in the background?
* Getting caught up in old unresourceful memories
* Worrying about the future
* Multitasking different projects at the same time
* Being Self-Conscious
* Chasing rabbits as they pop up
* Immediately responding to emails, notifications, messages and phone calls while still having your other tasks/projects in mind
* Etc.
The more apps you have open at any given time while you are performing, the more of your processing power and vitality you are burning up in the background. The more you ‘hold in mind’ at the same time, the less processing power you will have available to apply to the task at hand, and the less vitality you will have available to you at the end of the day.
So I ask again, do you want to perform at your peak, have higher levels of vitality throughout the day, and have more energy left over to do the things you want to do?
If yes, give yourself permission to close out all other ‘mental apps’ for a certain time frame and focus on just one thing at a time. What you will discover is that you will be much more productive, energetic, and all around happier.
