Are you aware of how powerful a simple “no” can be?

Seemingly simple, saying ‘no’ is an extremely powerful and foundational state in terms of mental-self defense, setting up boundaries, releasing old & unresourceful mental programs, preventing interruptions & distractions, and filtering the thoughts and beliefs of others from influencing your neurology.
The power of ‘no’ is a prime state of human beings. We begin to develop this power around two years of age, if our caregivers allow us to develop it properly.
How comfortable are you with saying no? How often do you practice saying no? How often do you practice feeling a state/feel of disconfirmation?
Do you know how ‘disconfirmation’ feels? Do you know what your personal state of disconfirmation feels like? How you experience it will be different than how others do, and if you do not know how you do it you will probably have a hard time practicing it!
What would you say if I offered you a bite of a dirty mud and worm sandwich? Come take a smell… Do you want a taste? Just a little lick? How about a big bite? Do you want to chew on it?
Notice the feeling of “no” within your body. Where do you feel the disconfirmation first? Where in your body do you feel it most? What is the tone and volume of your voice when you say no?
As you begin to recognize this feeling of “No!” in your body I invite you to remember this feeling. Because there are many opportunities you can benefit from practicing this in your life.
In terms of dealing with others and external circumstances, the power of ‘no’ allows us to set up boundaries.
Would you benefit from stronger boundaries? In terms of productivity boundaries allow us to say ‘no’ to potential interruptions e.g. phone calls, phone notifications, emails, conversations, distracting games and websites, etc.
In terms of dealing with ourselves, the power of ‘no’ allows us to get old programming out of our neurology. Does this idea serve me right now? Does this belief/thought support me in terms of being my most resourceful at this moment? Do I want to think this way? Do I want to feel this way? Do I want to practice this behavior anymore?
While the word ‘no’ seems so simple at first glance, just two little letters, don’t be fooled. The word ‘no’ and the feeling of disconfirmation are powerful tools you can utilize consciously to transform your life, enhance your relationships, increase your productivity, and actualize your best potentials.
